The open amphitheatre outside Esplanade(right) is one of the artsiest places in Singapore. A music festival was on when I was there, so there were lots of wonderful free concerts. The amphitheatre has the Singapore river and Shenton way behind it, and Esplanade at the front.
The Singapore Skyline, reflected on the Singapore river. The three brightest skyscrapers visible in the photos keep changing their colours.
Singapore is depicted in films and other media through this skyline and the Esplanade theatre. The hindi movie Krrish shows exactly the same skyline several times.
Notice that the two pictures are basically the same, except for the colour of their reflection in the water. This part of the river is usually busy with steamers carrying tourists in the evenings. To take these pictures, I checked at the boat Quay about the shifts, and found a 15-minute gap for refuelling and rest for the Ship 'captains'.
