Right off the bat, Philly lunches are wayy more expensive than Boston lunches, at least around Rittenhaus. I'd really like to know who these people are who are spending 15 bucks on an everyday lunch. They're not particularly any good either... Maybe it's just... This weekend?
Got up late yesterday, unable to help my friend in his move due to the stomach troubles from the day before. Did not much except... YOUTUBE... until early afternoon. Walked a bunch around town, went to IKEA and Walmart for setting up the new apartment. Went back to the burbs for a bit, and out and about town for a bit.
We went to this German bar Brü nearby that makes its servers wear fishnet stockings, and like... That thing gymnasts wear. Waitstaff should be given a choice in wearing that bs IMHO. The place i liked, the prices were quite...expensive for Philly, but by Boston standards they were ... Ok. There were a bunch of super tall and jacked Germans that we made fun of, good times. I didn't go to Wawa, and didn't go anything particularly exciting.
I'm excited about what a cool place my friend lives in and how close he's to literally everything. I'm kind of disappointed at how absurdly expensive the food prices are, even at crappy places. How the eff does this city sustain itself. Gross.
Other observations:
Falafel is everywhere. Particularly in the cheese steak joints. Is it becoming the default meat alternative?
Recently rained and dark Philly is p romantic. I can see the allure, why many persons I know have fallen in love here.
