The drive down south

Three thousand miles
In a matter of days
Four and then five
During the Xmas season
Did we go
On the drive
In the winter
Did we go
Prepared very well
For the snow
Or so we thought
Only to realize
It was all for the nought
Until it was far too late.
Down to Mt Shasta
Then to Bend, in Oregon
Kept driving down
To the valley of the death
And then to the pueblo
Of Las Vegas,
The shining city
Where we went
To a buffet
Of unlimited food
And played games
Of the fate.
On our drive back
Did we get stuck
On the snow
But we kept driving on
To make it back
Right as planned.
In the end,
Things worked out fine
Besides the
Crater lake outing.
