Review of Ghosts (UK) after the first 3 episodes

Watched the first three episodes of the British version of the TV series Ghosts with Sb over the weekend. Comments, responses, etcetera below.

First off, it's got two Taskmaster contestants: Katy Wix who plays a deceased ghost version of a naive house maid, and Charlotte Richie who plays a modern woman who moves into the old, falling-apart mansion bequeathed to her by some faraway aunt who has to share the building with the numerous ghosts haunting way past their death and her husband.

It's pretty funny. It's poignant. It's kind, lighthearted, lovely. It's not a constant barrage of witty zingers like 30 Rock, it's not the cynical outlook on the world like Peep Show, and it's not laugh-out-loud teenage comedy like Derry Girls or Inbetweeners. It's quite...wholesome, if not rat-tat-tat.

Solid, solid show to watch with family and friends. It makes sense the humor is so universal, as it's been successfully remade as an American show now. This could go anywhere and would translate very well. Ghost comedies are rare, glad this showed up.
