Morning was per the usual, probably, don't remember it's been two days since, vaguely remember listening to podcasts. Walked to Davis, good walk good podcasts. Added many new information-y podcasts to my feed because I've been getting deeper into the weeds with them and my brain's now so big guys because now I know so much random information about strange things.
Work in the morning was productive, lunch was incredibly so. Went downstairs to the sandwich place to get my seventh free sandwich, got the 'fit start' sandwich, added two packets of hot sauce and a packet of mayo, and oh man oh man while I do love my regular sandwich for its flavor and price, that was quite something. Lettuce on your breakfast sandwiches can be an incredible thing who knew. Also had Indian food that they had in the common area, thus leading to a very satisfying and comforting double breakfast that elevated my mood quite a bit.
After leaving work at 4.30 -- this was unusual for a Friday because everyone left an hour before but I had a little work and writing to catch up on -- went to H&M and bought SR earrings and scarf. I hope she likes them, that they're good quality because the knowledge I have on scarves and earrings is close to or very close to zero. Took the green, red and walked back home. Listened to the podcast This Podcast will kill you which is about diseases parasites viruses bacteria that are dangerous to humans and what an interesting listen that was. Back home I really wanted to take a nap because my head hurt like hell but there was a birthday party to go to, so fixed a quick egg-sandwich dinner, cleaned up shaved got nice clothes out and set for Allston. Walk to Davis, Red Line to Harvard, 66 bus to Trader Joe's where I got cider and cran goat cheese which is SS's favorite, missed a bus or two on the way by moments, and finally made it to their place. At 8.50. And I was still the first person to be there which was a little embarrassing but not really because any time I spend there is such a good time.
Had lots of fun etcetera. Had a little bit to drink because everyone started talking about families and getting married and all of that and I needed something to help me cope with such conversations. It was the most alcohol I had after a very long time and would hope to not do that again, but whatever. Made new friends, caught up with old ones, gave long and hopefully meaningful looks to persons, tried dancing but I was knackered so couldn't, left Alston at 1.40 when a big gang of random dudes no one knew showed up and there was no more energy to keep up. It was really good times, wistful sigh and made me wonder what I'm doing with my life and priorities etcetera. Perhaps I'm too harsh on myself sometimes.
Anyway, walked around Alston for like maybe half hour, hour to check out the night seen. Got shouted at by rando strangers who called me peter parker which was a compliment questionmark or was it an insult with drunk people you never know. The new podcast felt be safe and comfortable and I did walk quite a bit so funny saw people biking around there 2.30 in the morning which blew my mind. After getting near the Trader Joe's, took an Uber back home, and had a very agreeable conversation with the driver about housing and rental prices in Boston, politics, racism and all the associated matters in Boston.
Got back home at 3am wanted to talk to a couple of folks who didn't pick up my call except one person, tried making myself be awake to talk but so tired drunk and ugh just given up to be of any use, so I just fell asleep literally. Pretty much.
And that was my day! And what a brilliant day it was. Over and over again I'm reminded, this is the year for change, big changes need to be made on how I live my life on what I want to do and approach things and where I should be. They may go the way that I plan or maybe other ways I haven't planned yet, but 2020 is not the year for stasis that's for sure!
