What the hell is happening with Korean births?

The decrease in the Korean fertility rate has been drastic, to the point it's almost hard to believe a population could be collapsing so rapidly. They're predicting the 'birth per woman' number, ideal at 2. 1 for maintaining a stable populace at 0.6 for 2023. Around 700,000 South Korean kids were born in 1985. This year could see that number fall below 200,000 and going downward. Specially if the Koreans elect their woman-hating incel leaders, the numbers are bound to go submarine even quicker. The Korean fertility market has been poisoned.

What is interesting to me is that this trend is also reflected in North Korean demographics data-their number is at 1.8 which is far, far too low for countries in their economic cohost, and at this point it's hard to see how things might turn around.

I wonder what it is about Korean Society and traditions and people to result in such eye-catching number. The misogyny can not explain all of it, and neither can social expectations and financial situations, as other similar countries show.

These are wild times, truly!
