I went to Chu Minh Tofu, a completely vegan place in Chinatown run by a Vietnamese nun, and here's what I thought of it.
The great part: everything is vegan, and the food is excellent for the price level. No complaints there. And one can get unlimited buffet for $25 which is an unreasonably fair deal in Seattle at this age. Food by weight for eight bucks a pound. Not bad. The owner is really nice and kind and gives free food to the vagrants every Sunday morning.
The food itself was yummy, it was vegan and I'd eat here any day of the week.
The only one potential downside, possibly, is that with the $6 footlong using discount coupon, the $8.50 banh mi doesn't appear to be a good deal. It's way less substantial, more expensive, and yes maybe more tastier but not by that much more. If it was apples to apples, I'd get this apple, but it's apple to three apples, and I'd rather have three quite good apples.
Having said that, I'm very much going to be visiting this place many more times. The owner will give you a snack as you wait for your order, since the place is so extraordinarily tight and popular. She's kind and nice and treats everybody with great respect.
You should go here, highly recommended.
