Sb and I had dinner at Manao Thai the other evening. This is a review of sorts.
The restaurant is in my neighborhood, close to where I live, isn't extortionately expensive, and has pretty decent Thai tea without being cloyingly sweet.
Now for the bad parts. The food was underspiced, for a Thai restaurant. The curry was too watery. The rice was not fragrant. Our tofu based appetizer was the same as the appetizer entree I ordered. At least the dipping sauce was decent.
It'd been a long time since I didn't bother to takeaway leftover food. Our dinner was one of such occasions. I didn't want to eat it back home because it was clear I could make a much better version by myself.
If I was starving, I'd rather go to a nearby grocery store and cook than eat here.
Five out of ten, imagine there's people who might prefer this place, and their non-veg options are probably good but this place is not for me. Not at all.
