1. The world is dark, unknown and unpredictable only the first time, before you go explore it.
2. Always think about the 'victory condition' or why you are doing something. If you don't enjoy doing something and there's no other clear rewards visible, don't do it.
3. There's never just one way to win, and often it's on to you how you want to set the rules of engagement of life.
4. Always know when a battle has been lost, when the right time to withdraw is, and what you learned out of it.
5. Different players will use the same Civ differently and use various differing strengths, that is basic nature of game.
6. There is very rarely, if ever, the final boss match for most players, everyone is just playing to get better for the next big battle, it's all practice nothing personal!
7. It's important to understand why one was victorious as well as defeated-going off self-rewarding narrative is often counterproductive to learning and growing-
