Growing mushroom with my niece

I bought my young niece one of those small, minimal- effort mushroom growing kits. We opened it up, scratched it, and soaked it in water. I have assigned her the duty of watering it with a couple of spoonfuls of water every day. When it grows out in a week or so, she will be so excited at the miracle of nature, and the parts he got to play to make it happen. She's already into nature a bit, she likes collecting pebbles and rocks and leaves, the idea is that if she enjoy growing mushrooms she'll show greater interest in understanding the workings of plants, and maybe hopefully even become a teeny tiny gardens of sorts.

That's the plan anyway, she's already started losing interest, we'll see how the whole situation pans out...
