Surely, just by the numbers, should I meet thee

Surely, this must be a fact of nature
that just by the sheer law of large numbers
it's likely we shall soon meet
under the right circumstances of need.

Surely the fates, tilted against me in this sense
aren't conspiring on me against the rules of the run,
it's just a matter of time, now or soon
that we will finally be together
like the sun and the moon
in the morning sky.

Oh look,
The sun's out in the day,
and the moon's realm lays at night,
and yet at dusk and at dawn,
they get together,
the cool moon and the fierce Sun,
so if forces so far apart
can find common ground
it's quite a certainty dear
that we too shall find
each other
in the near future.
