A plot for the Imps story [and related storylines]

Added later: This is a practice to write overarching themes and storylines that can encompass all of my stories and characters. Alternatively, I can come up with an interesting outline which I fill in one post at a time. Regardless, this is not canon, unlike many individual stories relating to this post that have been written in the past couple of months which I DO consider canon.

Once upon a time, Indra the ruler of Swarga and the realms under it got the news from his spies that members of his court were plotting against Chandradev. Chandradev was also a member of the court, but he also looked after his own realm, the Chandralok. Indra had concerns about how the realm was being run, he was worried the discontent and empowerment fomenting in the lunar realm could spread to other realms and cause instability. What he did not care for was people in his court fighting each other and hatching big plans without his explicit content. Any kind of secret planning and plotting had to be contained, either they would take the legal formal way of the court, or they needed to shut it down.

Chandradev had his own spies inform him of the secret plot. He did not care for it. He had the support behind him, and he knew Indra would not let the plot go anywhere -- it was a direct threat to his own authority over the heavens, the entire point of the court of Swarga was look after these matters.

One day Indra called over the leader of the conspirators and gave him a few options. None of that included mounting a successful coup against Chandradev.

What neither Indra nor Chandra knew was that the conspirators had actually created a few dummy plans to suss out the spies among themselves, after identifying the traitor within their group, they kept him under a fog of misinformation while they mounted their real plan against Chandradev.

It was a poorly-timed coup. About just then, the heavenly Imps who managed and maintained the cosmic laws that backed divine powers unionized and threatened to go on a strike which was a first in the entire history of cosmos. The apsaras, gandharvas and other groups staffing the Swarga realm also coincidentally rose against existing structure of heaven at the same time. The various Asura and demonic races had also decided, about the same time, to make a final assault upon the heavens, to take what they considered to be truly theirs, but more importantly show the gods who was more righteous and just.

Confusion and chaos ensued. Allies turned into enemies, enemies turned to allies in the blink of an eye. The ever-changing boundaries between partners, friends, enemies frustrated all, the military leaders the most as no successful campaign could be organized with both sides changing their friendship status over several times during a war.

All the parties were united by their opposition to a common enemy that was threatening the whole fabric of reality. A group of nihilist solipsists who had gained deep understanding of the workings of the divine abilities began misusing their knowledge to modify nature in ways it wasn't meant to. These hackers truly struck the deepest existential fear in the hearts of the gods and demons alike, for not only there was a possibility that the nihilists were right, but that they would win and convert the entire universe to nothingness.

They were all ultimately saved by Rudra and his clan who came in to save the Universe in the last possible moment.
