Cooking in and eating out winter version

Funny thing for me to say considering how not-often I cook but I'm tired of eating out everyday for an entire week. A change of homemade culinary options is warranted yet the snow storm that has been harassing us Bostoners for the last couple of days seems intent on not letting that happen. The commutes, dark wet and musty, are longer that's fine more time to write but what when there's no food in the pantry the fridge is empty and alas all the snack boxes are finished. No fruits and no nuts no eggs either no dinner shortcuts. The ant and the grasshopper comes to mind, should have stocked up on food when light was not hard to find. Its too late now darkness abounds
