Good times honestly [Friday 6]

Got home at 1.15 in the morning after an hour of bus train walk from Allston. I was at SS's place, hanging with her, roommates S (lastname whknows) and RL (fisherperson of compliments, and fast giver, faster than I could return), and SR. We did tarot card readings. There are many nice things to be said all of which can be summarized as: hope I'm really friends-friends with them in the long term and the planned 'moving away from this crappy city' doesn't happen in the foreseeable future. Nice, loving, my-kind-of people where I don't need to speak because nods convey the complete range of emotions. SR did two rounds of readings and hers were a bit more intense than mine, which was really neat. I got to open a bit, make myself a little more vulnerable, got others to open up learned about what they were all about. I also got to show off my pushups and what a hunky fit person I am (lol, not) so that was great. Ladiessss!

We (read: me) cooked scrambled eggs the french style and kimchi fried rice. What a great combo, the butter, vegetable oil and sesame oil combo is something that I should make more often if I'm in the rice-eating mood. The rice was not enough but with the oils eggs and kimchi it somehow worked out perfectly! It was a great time, always fun cooking for other people. Specially when the other people happen to be a bunch of great single women haa.

The 'party' moved to Allston from my work because the three of us were all indecisive lazy and most importantly didn't want to spend money eating out when we didn't have to. We were all lazing about delaying making the restaurant decision at my work, figuring out if we wanted to go to Santouka (long lines) or somewhere else (SS not hungry) when I suggested buying groceries somewhere and just going to SS's place and cooking. The group quickly came to a unanimous decision for such a indecisive collection of folks, in the end we didn't go to the grocery store even because they had everything in their kitchen apparently. There was some confusion, maybe excitement, on all sides (you sure you wanna come? it's a long way. You sure you wanna invite? I'm just basically inviting myself to your house and impose myself on y'all for a few hours) and it all worked out perfectly. On the train we talked about a bunch of things that may have inspired the previous post and right before we left we also talked about something that it seemed all of had forever wanted to bring up but had been toeing around it and in general there was a good-news bad-news situation the most important outcome being that everyone is more better informed about various things and expectations are set accordingly. I should be writing this in my other journal (yes folks I maintain a personal journal too!) but whatever ehh. It's not like anything's being given away.

The work party was only three of us because everyone bailed out. For me it was perfect because I got to know people in ways that would not have been possible with a larger crowd of people in stages of lives that are different from ours. The not-me party was possibly, potentially disappointed or bored or whatever but hey you win some you lose some.

Was at work till 5.46 checking news and work before everyone showed up. The director left late too and I talked to him about what was up, we had a good chat. Did work things until 5.30. The workday itself was not very productive though I figured out new things proactively that were maybe strictly not related to the current project but would still be relevant to us as a team. Lunch was beans and avocado again, thank god for avocado, and I had some snacks of old things from my drawer at 3-ish which messed my stomach real bad. need to get rid of that from my snack drawer really.

Morning commute was tolerable and got to work in 50-ish minutes which was great. The entire day I felt a little tired, a bit too stretched for it had been a long day and I had gone to bed maybe not at the best time (still quite on time) the previous night. Still, good talks with coworkers, generally okay work productivity, discoveries of new projects. An okay work day really.

The day warmed me up. Mhm.
