The young kids, those damn free fifth-graders didn't worry have to worry about love or future or anything could just run around without worrying the slightest about their life or future. Hiranya was tired and a little tired of them. He wished he were ten again. What's done is done, got to live up with your decisions, Hiranya, you can't run away from your life, an annoying voice inside his voice said. He knew the irritating inconsiderate voice. He didn't want to consider what it had to say. Conscience had its place but not when it made your life miserable...a happy life with slightly guilty conscience better than a sad pathetic guilt-free life.
He had betrayed no one, technically. It's just that...if discovered it would look like it was an obvious betrayal by him to both the management and his friends, when neither was true. He was a truthteller really and a good friend and the secrets he had discovered weren't even told to him technically he had heard them by being at all the wrong places at the wrong times. That was his gift, everyone knew that he couldn't do anything about it. If they wanted things to not get told around maybe they should have just trusted him and confided in him and told him not to tell anyone. And then only would their secrets be completely safe...besides him telling Parve obviously he had been telling her everything she was awesome he hoped she didn't remember any of what he told her in confidence because he would be in deep deep trouble if she ever let out that he had told her everything he knew.
Here comes the Principal, he thought, a much happier and less-conflicted man than myself. He tightened his mouth into a slight smile and nodded. Good morning Hiranya! the Principal said beaming. Hiranya opened his mouth...unsure of what to say Thank you si---'Morning Sir, nice day, just walking around, he managed to blab but by then the headmaster was lost deep into those dark corridors. The problem with living in your head, he realized, is that you forget that the world outside exists.
