Early salary with Capital One

This is a silly silly thing to worry about, and the financial implications of it are so minuscule it makes no impact on anything ever, but something interesting happened and I'm excited so let's talk about it!

As I've let known more recently, I opened a CapitalOne Checkings account, and one of the features there is this 'early salary' thing, where you get money deposited into bank account 1-2 days before other bank accounts. I thought it was mostly hot air and marketing because how would that ever work out? But turns out it's real! Got my money a solid day-and-half before other accounts. So exciting.

So I did some calculation, based on ~5% interest rate, getting the money a day early for 26 fortnights a year means...an extra of...wait for it...15 dollars per-anum at the very best. Pitiful, comical almost.

But it's still exciting to get your money before everybody else does, no?

As I said before, this does mean I'll likely get even further away from Bank of America. Sorry bofa!
