I wrote in recent posts how I got the membership to the king county library system, and I have already borrowed (and skimmed over!) so many of their digital books already! My busride cost of 2.50 has paid itself multiple times over at this point and I couldn't be any happier! So many good, popular books to peruse, audiobooks to listen to, new material to explore and share. Not even kidding, it's not all trash it turns out, and there's lots of interesting, engaging material to read even among the sketchier sections of the library. I couldn't be any happier and content, in this specific scenario!
Of course the whole experience is only going to be greatly enhanced when my Kindle scribe arrives on Monday hopefully, which is what I'm waiting for, but they haven't shipped it yet and it's almost Sunday here. I'm slightly confused and a bit pissed, honestly, and considerations have been made on whether I should cancel the membership entirely due to the needless nature of the pricey equipment. I do alreaady have a kindle that can connect to overdrive and get be books, so what's the point even, is something I've considered. Since it's not shipped yet, cancellation is just a matter of a click of a button and bam! Three hundred buckaroos saved. But...I want it. I want the writing device, I need it. Maybe it's worth it after all.
Work in progress, as is the nature of life.
