Alice Catering is my favourite place in Kathmandu to attend catered parties.
It's by far the most convenient location: accessible by public transport, right in the heart of Kathmandu so easily reachable by private transport, has enough parking for hundreds of vehicles, they could accommodate if every guest drove themselves to the place.
The architecture is 'inspired'. There's a vision going on there, a theme, and it was executed with great skill. The rooms are roomy and well-ventilated, there's bright light, and the levels are well organized.
The food is absolute top notch, nothing much to add there. So good in fact that they've opened up a few restaurants around town because people complimented them for the food. Good mix of vegetarian, meats, salads, soups, appetizers and desserts. Always such a joy to be invited to a party there.
The prices are the most reasonable you'll find in town. They're better priced than much worse places, and a cost a third of comparably 'fancy' places that pale in comparison to the service and food provided there.
The catch is that it's so extraordinarily popular and in-demand, they need downpayment and commitment a year in advance of the planned date. A year of reservation backlog is something to be envious of, they should most definitely open a few more places.
