Winter malaise has gotten us all

Everybody I know and I mean literally every.single.person is drained of optimism and energy. The motivation is gone, the vitality of life has disappeared from within our spirits. Replaced by this glum realization that the world is a sad pathetic place which will wring us dry of all our joys before burning the dry remaining husk in a conflagration. NO motivation, no optimism, no excitement. And everybody feels it's just them, that something is up, that we've turned into depressed sad-sacks with nothing too exciting to look forward to. That it's our fault, personally for not doing better and we are malaised.

Not so, that's not true.

The covid situation has tired us. Human interaction have gotten weird, reduced in numbers. The sex lives of exciting people have gotten boring. The sad winter days, lacking in warmth and light have taken away any optimism for life that was remaining. Cold, soggy, dark, we see the days ahead of us and project the physical into the emotional.

Remember friends, this is temporary. We are down but not out. The winter will end, bright sunny long days will return and the disease that has taken a serious toll on the psyche of those it has spared healthwise will go away. Things will become normal soon. We must bide our time and make plans for what we must do when the tide turns in our favor.

Up, up and ahead!
