Yes the era of live-show podcasts is here, and it better be goddamn good

I heard Conan's podcast live (in the pod) earlier today. No such thing as a fish has had it's live shows for a while now. The office ladies are planning their live versions, so is james acaster for his pod. Rhlstp is back to making live shows, and mdwap are planning for it in the foreseeable future too. How did this get made is going to go live too. It's all gonna happen so goddamn soon and exciting times are ahead.

From what I can make out through conversations between performers and comedians, when the pandemic began the promoters and entertainment producers gave them two options: start a podcast, or write a book. The book writers are in their book tours, mostly through the podcast interviews run by the other sort of people who chose the podcasts. Most of those podcasts have gotten quite popular actually as people have more time to spend with themselves, no more office, not as much hanging with friends and family anymore. As they gained popularity, they gained a core group of loyal fans across the globe who are willing to pay not insignificant amount of monies to see them live.

And that's how we're here, how all the major podcast people are going on live-show tour. Radio people turning into showbiz people, here of course they were always in the showbiz, they were just forced into radio. I'm excited about the interesting future this will bring ahead, how incredibly healthy this could be for local theaters and other performance venues. We the consumers get to meet the celebs, they get to get the monies and see the dividend of their 2-year investment, and the venue people finally start making money to cover up for the lost time.

Good times are ahead, for everybody. One hopes.
