Made chaat of fried bittergourd, bhujiya, salsa, and yogurt. Pretty good, I surprise myself sometimes, yumyum. This was for 'lunch'.
For dinner I cooked. Nepali style golbheda ko chatni. Tomatoes and thaniya smooshed in mortal-and-pestle, with an excessive use of green chilli-peppers. People found it way wayyy to spicy, but also very reminiscent of the home cuisines and appreciated it. I was supposed to make rotis too, but compromised on rice because the tomato ko chatni goes well with rice. Made small riced potatoes fried without pre-boiling. If they're small enough and you cook for long enough, they usually work out.
Work was chill and easy, it was supposed to be the day before deployment, but we got the following day off so there wasn't much rush for anything. I had a meeting with my manager that went pretty well, quite short though.
After work I had an hour-and-half meeting with the team I'm mentoring at my former Uni. They really seem to appreciate my mentorship and guidance, have been doing exactly as I recommend them to do. I guess here's some good experience with starting a software team from scratch.
The day was low and slow, and about to end at ten-ish, when we got a call from S. He needed to do a short pickup of the gigglies in DC. We drove to DC, made it happen. Some shopfronts are still boarded up, but the police presence has thinned considerably, and things have gotten a lot stabler, though of course corona remains. Got back to S's place, hung out had some, came back and slept. This probably explains why I didn't write this one that day, instead here we are four days later.
