Choco troubles

I weaned off of regular Hershey's-like trash chocolate bars two years ago. I'll eat a bar or two if someone puts a big bowl of those in front of me and that's about it. If someone offers me a bar I politely refuse it more often than not. Those bars are too sweet, too trashy, and I can taste the rancid oil once every few bars. As I've written here before, I eat almost exclusively very dark chocolate now.

So it shouldn't have come as a great surprise to me when a 'fun-sized' bar if Hershey's upset my stomach earlier today. It was the department meeting at work and they always have candy bars in bowls. I can't help it. It wasn't the first occasion if candy-induced stomachache either, the last several times have been less than pleasant experiences but I always put it down to something else. Anything but the chocolate bars. Because the mass-produced products made by multibillion conglomerates that I've been eating since forever couldn't possibly have upset my stomach, I thought. So wrong.

All there is left now for me is go off of regular cheap chocolate like I've gone off liquor and meat. Try them only under extraordinary circumstances, just for the sake of other people. My career gluttony in all things sweet is over alas, fellas.
