Hotel Checkout, Pike Market hangs, Seattle Roastery, I meet somebody randomly, walking Cap Hill, Vegan Thai food, quirky city, luggage and check-in to AirBnb [Sat 17]

Now that I write the things that we did, it appears that these days were extremely very much busy, but it most certainly didn't feel like that during.

We washed up, watched tv, packed up and got ready to check out of the hotel. Before that we went to a nice coffee place where we got cute little sandwiches and I got a nice coffee and bagel. Apparently they're all mediocre, and don't compare to the East Coast.

Then took an online taxi to A's place where we set our baggages for the day. Went to his roof and chilled a bunch, and then back to our daylong trip. We walked to Pike Market place to explore it further, and then I realized that the emptiness of the couple of days previous was because it was midday on a weekday. This place was packed to the brim with people, so many tourists, so many vendors, so little distance, it's great that most people are mostly vaxxed, and everybody is masked. Also Pike place is so effing massive, so much to explore, it's quite wild.

We then walked to the Sbux Reserve Roastery in downtown. On the way I met -- absolutely out of nowhere and totally by total random chance -- my cousin SS who was crossing the street from the other side. I shouted BHAAAI, he looked a little befuddled, he came over, we caught up real quick and made plans to catch up later in detail because he was on the hunt for apartments and apparently in a bit of a hurry.

We explored the sbux place, cool drinks and food, what an inspirational steampunk place it is. We didn't get food or drinks, but checked out the ridiculously overpriced merchandise, and marveled at the giant copper tubing and vats and roasting pots and what not. We did get to see a large batch of coffee beans getting roasted.

We wanted to walk from there to the nearby Nepali restaurant. On the way we passed by Capitol Hill, which is the queerest, funnest, most cultured, interesting and curious (also dare I say, kinky) part of Seattle. Layers and layers and layers of posters for podcasts, musical performances, art exihibitions plastered on top of one another on the electric poles. The Nepali restaurant it turns out was closed, so we got the privilege of walking several more blocks, which was all the well because we really got to taste and smell and learn about the city. My travel companion bought a few clothes for close friends, and the shops we went to were quite interesting. Lets just say a vampire would feel very much at home in there.

We went to a super nice vegan thai restaurant where the landlady was extremely jolly and kind, and had so much food, way wayyy too much food, we took out more than half of it home because we filled up on the appetizers.

From there we walked back to A's place, got our luggage and everything, and took an online shared taxi driven by a very proud Iranian man to our AirBnb in the 'burbs, relatively speaking. There we unpacked showered and made ourselves at home. I left for the evening for a quick shopping run, and the walk to the Safeway in Othello was one of the most touching and romantic self-walks I've ever had. Bought a bunch of supplies for the evening, as well as stuff to eat for breakfast so we wouldn't be needlessly spending money on things we didn't need. Took the bus back to our place. We watched tv, got drunk, ate a lot, and slept quite well, all things considered.
