Redmond and Bellevue are wastelands basically

You hear about Redmond, the headquarters of Microsoft and you imagine this futuristic technocity that must have a lot going on. A rich city at least, if not for anything else.

It's a lazy, not too well-off suburb of Seattle that doesn't have much going on except several dozens uninteresting office buildings belonging to Microsoft. There's no fancy apartments, no great complexes, no spaceship designs to talk of. It is a wholly unremarkable place besides the microsoft campus. 'Affordable white middle class suburb without a strip mall' is how I would describe it.

What a disappointment.

Bellevue, the town neighboring it, does have more market, but they're strip malls mostly, and that's even sadder. They do have lots of parks and greenery and as such, but that's on the par for this area, not a particularly huge achievement.

That is it.
