Review of The Crocodile and the 2000's show on there last weekend

With a new group of acquaintances, friends of friends of friends, at whose place we pre-gamed for about an hour in Ravenna, we went to The Crocodile, which is this small club in Belltown last weekend. A quick review follows.

The Crocodile is an interesting place, along with its twin stage Madame Lou's: it's in Belltown where not much 'standard' clubbing happens. A crowded Capitol Hill club where drunk peeps come stumbling in ready to rub their crusty bodies against other sweaty bods, this is not. Neither is this the 18-above club of the sort that one finds at Pioneer Square area. The shows here are targeted: you go here only if you know there's an interesting show happening. Or if you happen to be a tourist who decided to not go to where all the cool clubs are and instead tread the path less-walked.

The show we went to was 'Music from 2000s'. It was good. The performer was high-energy...the highest energy person in the room, probably, and the crowd seemed like a funloving, dancing medium-energy group that couldn't match the energy of that poor dude onstage. I liked it! Not too many drunk snogs, no random lost souls trying to locate themselves among a crowd of writing bodies. Good clean fun it was. The staff was surprisingly friendly, and the restrooms, oh man the restrooms were so goshdarned clean, specially for a club! Was nobody drinking there? I wasn't, but surely others must have been?

The group I was with was a friendly bunch, liked dancing and seemed chill. Perhaps it was the mixed-gender vibes that seemed friendly that elevated the experience at the club. Or maybe this was really a quality place that I should consider going all by myself in the future. Regardless, what a solid place, I should go there more often, eight out of ten stars. Recommend!
