Pleasant surprise: The Hindus is available as an audiobook at my local library

Wendy Doniger is brilliant, there's no question about, and her older books hold as much water as her later books like The Hindus, and On Hinduism. Quickly searching for her books on the local library website while reading her older books was fruitful: turns out her The Hindus tome is available as an audiobook in the local  library: a quick 'hold' was put on, and excited heart was restrained. The 600-page tome was hard to read end-to-end, but as an audiobook, it'll go by super quickly, despite being...and here's the crazy part...32 hours long! That's like, if one listened to it for an hour a day at regular listening speed, it'd go for a month. Pretty crazy! Listening to it at 2x the speed for 3 hours a day is still 6 days of listening for the book! Amazing because that's just more material to enjoy and absorb. I'm looking forward to it!
