Covid updates

So at this point I've had my first shot, most of our friends have had that too, and by April-end everybody should have at least the last round. By June-ish, I'm thinking the majority of the people we hang out with will have protected themselves through vaccinations.

The concerns about Americans not taking it seriously enough, the user anti-vaxxers causing issues, and the virus taking that as an opportunity to grow are still there. Though some Economist article I read suggests as people get more tired of the disease, and it becomes perhaps a tad lesser politicized people are getting more comfortable taking it. It would be amazing if by the Fourth Of July, things were more or less normal.

We can hope.

But there's a slight chance things may get out of hand, if enough assholes don't take it, remove restrictions far too early, and mingle and go about just to make sure that the stupid liberals know that real red-blooded americans ain't afraid of no stupid 'flu-virus'. That would be bad, and quite annoying because that might mean yet more restrictions going forward.

Like in Europe.

Yeah, Europe is not doing so great. They don't have enough restrictions, or vaccinations, and the people there weren't able to hold out. Not that Americans are exemplary in this regard but they got neither the speed or the patience, so they're now in their fourth round of lockdowns. The UK has pretty much shut down all international travel. Yet. Again.

For a change, things are looking quite good in America since Covid hit.

And there's bigger places to worry about. Brazil's number's are getting out of hand, and the psychopath of a ruler seems to have no interest or will in getting the disease controlled. Indian mismanagement corruption and the swirling two billions who are mostly all poor have made the disease control harder and numbers are surging there as well. The fear like always is that the increasing numbers will lead to mutations that existing vaccines don't cover.

I was hoping that the world would open up by mid-to-late this year, it's looking increasingly like that won't strictly be the case. It's a bit of a bummer.

I will however put all my eggs on things being pretty back to normal by this November-December, because interesting things are happening and ain't nobody gonna be screwing up my fun plans.
