I was scarred by my Nepal trip 6 months ago when ED and I had ordered vegetarian meals online for Qatar Air and the food was awful. I had the same trepidation for the Qatar- Seattle leg of my trip, and I need not have worried. like guys it was so freaking good, Indian and South East Asian curries! And I was thinking, I must have made a decent amount of the ticket price's worth just in the meals, because I would pay like $15 for each, and there were 5 of them each way, which makes the total$ 150, also tried couple of spritzers and they helped me sleep better. Which adds to the value gained, you know.
The food was excellent, snacks that I went to try were good, the spritzers were nice too, oh and I used airport bathrooms and they were fantastic too. The best part was both the return flights were less-than full, the seat next to me was empty in both flights so I had a workspace and a personal space.
Plus, I worked in my Doha-Seattle leg and it went about as well as I anticipated. Worked on the immigration line and on the train home, so don't think anybody found the experience sus or anything.
The work situation was instructive for future trips. I can basically buy tickets anytime including during work hours. Work on the train, work on the boarding 'gate and work in the plane and nobody is all the wiser. Saves on money, saves on holidays, makes planning more convenient. Just need to make sure to not take meetings ha ah!
