The new perfect date day

The last perfect date day
Was 2.5 years ago in may,
My friend wasn't as motivated
As some other folks may have been
But a gracious kind and lovely soul
She was, soft spoken& generous too,
Oh sweet memories of the deep-eyed one
Who is now lost to time,
Hasn't been heard from in ages.
This time around, things were different
but oh so much fun,
there was mutual staring of the eyes
and winking and smirking, hands were held in Kathmandu, inhospitable of all places.
Restaurants were hopped,
Drinks, food, desserts, so much more
long and hearty conversations had.
This was a serious thing,
laden with expectations.
but for a moment, all those moments,
all was forgotten.
All that remained
was the pleasant, loving, caring company, untethered for just a moment the decisions expectations& consequences.
The silences were fulfilling too
with excitement and eagerness and hope,
In the evening as the sun set,
so did the date,
and the life temporarily, untethered to reality.
