There's massive rounds of layoffs happening at Google, affecting possibly thousands of people, in addition to Amazon and Instagram this week. These are wild times, because in the world we were in, folks were changing jobs every six months for a massive 30% raise in salary on each round. And the churning went on and on and on, ad infinitum. It seemed like they had discovered a cheat code for the universe, where everybody else was a fool who didn't give a crap about wanting to money, and they, masters of the universe had it all figured out.
I mean yeah, some of those who actually considered themselves to be the masters of the universe uhhh got funding from stupid investors, used that money to pay themselves massive sums and invest the rest in friends and family and created a guaranteed payout for themselves at the cost of their -- yes murderous and insane, but still stupid and rich -- investors. Which is what I would like to have done, please, thank you very much!
