More updates on the state of the website

Here's what's happening with the website.

I've been uploading stories one or two or three at a time. Was hoping to get about 5 at one go, but haven't gotten the chance, and my inner editor won't let me because it will all still reflect poorly on me. Besides that, there were a couple of pretty massive bugs preventing the website being properly indexed on Google and other sites, so fixed that to make it available on the internet. The other issue was I was loading a crazy amount of data and everything was so slow, which has been fixed too. All that remains in major perf upgrades is the search application which is taking a massive loading time, and also basically crawls to a stop when a search occurs. Also it's sending all the website data for every page, which is pretty crazy. That's my next goal, right after making it load only when search has been requested. I worked on some lunr.js optimizations by looking at sample code online, will bring that in later.

I realize that all of this technical work is strictly not necessary, and yeah there's possibility I'm just shirking away from real work by doing this, but it's important to show at least basic technical prowess seeing as I've worked in this field in the past, you know?

The next plan of attack is to bulk-post all the main tech pieces, and then the steal this idea ones, then focusing on editing those so I don't look like a cheating moron who copied-and-pasted from chatGPT, then cleanup the remaining pieces and parts on my planning list. Eventually, in a couple of weeks the first phase of the website will be complete and second phase begins.

All that I've discovered from this is that using ai to write was a massive fiasco, I should have limited the use to planning, the output is a stinker, and I spent so long trying to get it to this stage. If I'd just written it straight on, after discussing for 15 minutes with the ai, I'd probably have been ahead.

The more you know...
