Volunteer park spring vibes

How do you know it's Spring in Seattle?
You go to Volunteer park, oh dear,
and look at the green
which over the winter
becomes devoid of a human being
and come Spring time
dozens and dozens of families
and partners
and kids,
and families and the rest
lay out about on their picnic blankets
and inside their cute little tents
playing frisbee to hackey sack
the whole park comes to life
of fresh hope
a new start
and the beginning of a great year ahead
and the good times to be had
with the people around,
the flowers and the birds too
yes, ohh
they smell good and
make singsong voice
but I appreciate the people more
and how the dreaded winter mood
turns around from the inside
to be out and about
and so full of joy
oh the spring is here
and the volunteer park
is the first witness
to this turn!
