The first big achievement is that I've finally found an amazing template that matches perfectly with my vision of what the site should be. And it also happens to look a lot like what other people whose sites I aspire to emulate from look like. The old template I had been working under the assumption of finalizing was quite boring and drab, truth be told, which is not a complaint I usually have. But for this I need all the oomph I can get, and the new template gets me there. Super excited about it.
I went around and modified the template IN PLACE by using console to see how my content would look like in there, and it looked great? Nothing disappointing or mind-breaking really, just what it meant to be. I was able to change the template by modifying the templated designs too so I can get rid of the design elements I don't feel comfortable with. Didn't realize that class names were used to control the elements until a few years ago, so that lesson has been valuable. I even put my dummy content, sections, and photos in there and took a screenshot to get a dummy and it looks amazing!
There's also a good sense of the other special technical features (that don't involve writing or planning) that I want in later versions, so that means 1) I'm not needlessly investing in those abilities right now, and 2) there's a general vision of what I want the site to eventually look and feel like, so the vision of my dreams is nearing realization!
Also wrote / planned out the last remaining pieces of writing. For this phase, no more planning work remains, I just need to actually properly write, but even if they're not done, I'm ready to just replace the crap website that exists there right now with the one I want. This is a big progress.
Oh and finally, the one I'm the most personally proud about. I got about six of my old photos, turned them into b&w and edited the crap out of them to look semi-decent, so there's 'personal photos' to go for the website. This should be good! It looks quite decent!
