All these years I've been going to Volunteer park on daily walks, and never thought of climbing up the water tower stairs to view the city. I didn't even want to know if it was possible to go upstairs, it was by chance that somebody told me last year you could in fact climb the spiral staircase and get a panoramic view of the city. And yet that didn't attract my attention. Big deal, I thought, so what, I can see the Bay and the Needle from anywhere.
Today because I was feeling a bit free and queasy and the weather was perfect I climbed the arduous spiral staircase and reached to the top! It was pretty decent, definitely worth the effort and I have missed out on a lot not exploring the different views of Seattle from the top of the tower. What a loss it has been for me!
