The oversupply of flowers for Tihar fucked sellers real bad

Some silly news/observation. A little sad. All the sellers of the sayapatri flower in Kathmandu are at a loss because those flowers are usually quite pricey, so everybody bought in massive volume hoping to make a tidy profit. There was enough supply for them. And well you know what happens next, since everyone was selling so much flowers, the prices fell, or they wouldn't sell, and literally every shopkeeper in Kathmandu is complaining about what a terrible trade they made. Even in the evening of Laxmi Puja there were cartloads of flowers and garlands in all neighbourhoods, hoping to get rid of their stocks. The market supply and demand mechanism is harsh and uncaring.
