It would be unwise to declare it a Mission Accomplished, but my leg appears to be recovering, thanks to the PT workouts and the exercise I've been doing by myself. What I mean by that is: I walked to my art class earlier today, and then to Trader Joe's & QFC in the evening, and in none of those un-assisted walks did my knees hurt or bother me in anyway. I didn't were the compression band, and yet I didn't have to hobble, didn't have to readjust my gait to distribute pressure between all the joints on my bottom half, and didn't have to consider coming home by cutting a trip short because my knees were hurting me. At home the pain has become less and less noticeable too. It's unclear if this is because I have gained strength, or because I have 'tricked' my knees to ignore the hurt by putting on compression band in extra-high pressure and wearing it even on occasions when I'm not walking. So now my body is afraid if it hurts I'll put the thing on so it ignores the pain entirely. Don't know if that's how life works, but it's not a good idea to rule it out right away.
Fingers crossed I won't have to babysit my knees anymore, and continue all the workouts.
