I wrote about sunbathing here and here last year. This is not a new content per se, just a rehashing and reminder of how incredibly relaxing and recharging the simple act of putting your butt out -- along with the body attached to it -- in the sun is.
PN's apartment has a nice balcony where we go out in the sun and warm our bodies every afternoon. The sun this time of the year is quite rejuvenating. The temperatures are not high enough to burn or cause serious damage, and the wind is cool almost chilly when it blows every so often, so you'll not dry out like a bang of bricks in an oven. Heat one side, and then the other, and keep spinning around like a really slow shwarma of sorts.
The birdsongs are nice, certainly. People playing in the large ground right behind their house. An elderly gentleman has been flying his RC airplane all day long every day and it's quite a scene to watch. The neighbors aren't out too much so there's close to complete privacy. This afternoon apparently the next-door neighbor was out listening to music on the phone which made N a bit conscious and slightly uncomfortable but that's a once-a-month occasion I'm told. The neighbors don't seem to care for the sun.
Only downside I feel is that even on days which are sunny and warm, going back in from the bright warm outdoors feels cold and gloomy and erm depressing. You don't want to stay in the house, be out and about as soon as you can. With your work laptop if possible. Obviously no work will be done if you have your laptop with you outside because you're out for the sun, not work.
Another idea: sunbathing dates would be cool, just on public parks etcetera.
I should be out and about in the sun with friends and loved ones more often, in Boston as well.
