a minor incident of no major concern that took place today

Let's not make a big deal out of it because it's not too big of a deal. It's some deal, a medium sized deal that might sound like a massive deal, but only because we want to make it out to be, you know? Things are what you make out of them, and we will make this a not a very big deal. The other day I was making tea in the morning, heating the water in the pot, and accidentally set the wrong hob open. The other hob had a plastic takeout container over it. Five minutes later, I see so much steam coming out, and I think, oh man did I forget to close the hob, and realize all the plastic has actually evaporated away. And the fire alarm hadn't gone off. I closed the hob, opened all the windows and doors, turned on the vents, and sat next to the window with my fan facing inward for an hour or two, to avoid inhaling plastic fumes. One hopes no long-lasting damage was caused to one's body. Windows and doors were kept open for the entirety of the day, and the smell was chased away by lighting four incense sticks and pretty aggressive airing out. It was quite scary at that very moment, and things weren't great, but on the other hand, in the scale of things, everybody is okay, and no visible damage is visible. One will need to be careful in the future. The most annoying outcome at this point is that burner still has bits of plastic that won't come out, so it's possible we'll have to burn out the rest of the plastic by putting the hob on for a while, as one goes out of the apartment. Ah well...
