I'm doing four meals a tea, and now I'm thinking of adding two or three minor 'tea times' to it. First thing I wake up in the morning, I get the kettle going on. Ten minutes later, I let one of my tea bags steep, and dip a couple of savory biscuits I brought from trader joe's and yum yum. But not too many, like a greedy child, which I have always been, because there's a full-on breakfast coming up ahead, and I need to have my tummy ready for it. That's the first tea ceremony of the tea, with biscuits, thanks to the British.
Then in the afternoon, right after coming back from the office or class, I do my second tea, this time just after lunch. Relaxed and chill, possibly a biscuit or two too, or something else. To calm the nerves, thank you. They call it the afternoon tea.
Finally in the early evening, when I'm more or less done with most of the chores, and ready for the evening time to come in, the high-tea, at about six or seven in the evening. Too late to be close to the earlier tea, and too early to bother one's sleep, this will prepare one brilliantly for the day's end. Thanks to the generosity and the pomposity of the British grandees.
Sounds good to me, the British tea traditions are a fine idea!
