Daylong swims and burns [Sun 9]

Got up unreasonably early for a weekend, talked to family and friends. Had a quick breakfast which I'm too embarrassed to admit was chocolate and nuts I know that's not what a reasonable health-conscious adult is supposed to have for the so called 'most important meal of the day'. But hey the folks selling you breakfast are also selling you food sweeter than desserts for it so I was better off with my hacky breakfast anyway. Cut the pineapple that I got from Wegmans like two weeks before and packed it for the hangs.

Headed out to the Mystic lake at 10.30 am. I lost my keys sometime on Thursday or Friday, it's inside the house because I opened the doors to get in can't seem to find it anywhere. Borrowed keys from roommate PK, rode my bike to the lake. Tried a couple of spots, one spot had a really large dead fish swimming near the 'beach', which roommate BB later said was shockingly large for a lake that size. Maybe they're stocking the waterbody he says. It was gross either way. Found a slightly shadier but environmentally healthier spot.

Waited for friend AB and her household for a couple of minutes. They biked for an hour and twenty minutes to get there, their car had been thrown away. The three of us swam, talked a bunch, ate pineapples -- they had their lunches in addition -- chilled by the beach etcetera. AB's roommate C tried teaching me breaststoke, I didn't learn much of it. We talked about their vegetable gardens and chicken too, astute readers of this blog will remember AB's homestead in the heart of Boston was one of the things I missed about the city while in VA.

The gang left about two hours of swimming. I stayed around for a few more hours until my body was exhausted to the point of my legs giving away. Biked back, had snacks, talked a bunch to roommate BB and friend-of-the-house ND. Realized I had a really bad sunburn. Talked to a bunch of my international friends.

Went to bed at elevenish.
