Fall's a-coming

Two weeks ago...in the first week of August, SS [Phd] already saw a red leaf on a tree by the Mystic Lakes.

Today the weather was considerably colder and 'chiller' than the oppressive summer heat and humidity we have been getting in recent weeks and months. This can mean only one thing: summer is over and fall is here whether we like it or not.

On the one hand the end of intolerable heat humidity is great because now folks can get out go on runs walks swims bikerides have fun in nature. Fall hikes are the best way to explore the New England area naturally. The red leaves all over just fill your heart, the scenery in Maine is one to be beholden it takes your breathe away.

On the other hand the days will be shorter now, the best season of the year is here and we're still in the pandemic. Which means risky halloween, thanksgiving and even christmas. People are going to get careless schools will open and the waves will hit us again.

Wish there was a better way to enjoy the fall.

I feel bad for those small touristy towns in New England whose major business is hosting tourists, they're not doing so well their entire economy is structured around showing people a good time: waterside seafood, pumpkin-picking apple-picking pumpkin-spiced latte, homemade pumpkin pies all the various preserves hayrides, you've got the whole nine yards. This year all the fun activities will be truncated, despite it being technically safe there's unease in the air. It's no good.

They've found a cluster of thirty new cases in newzealand seemingly out of nowhere they're baffled where it started and are trying to trace it to the source. If NZ is struggling in such a manner there is literally no hope for any other country for the foreseeable future until there is a vaccine. The russians lol who their doctors are not taking seriously claim to have come with a vaccine no one's going to take that. They're saying there's going to be a reliable well-tested vaccine by the end of this year or the beginning of the next but one shouldn't get their hopes high...a full thirty percent of the effing American population has declared it is not interested in taking vaccine for the fucking pandemic that is killing their parents and children which is insane but that's the alternative reality we find ourselves in.

Things are worrying, hoping everything gets better.
