A review of the last episode of Breaking Bad

Let's clear the air, I didn't watch the series finale of Braking Bad in full. I have 'consumed' most of it in one form or another, via wikipedia plot summary, listening to the dialog from the kitchen while I cooked, and watching it for the more interesting exciting scenes. Like the one where Walt kills all the villains and dies himself in the end. I told roomies to watch El Camino right after, pretend the movie was the two following episodes, they weren't into it.

As a reminder, I haven't really watched the series, I've watched some episodes, on and off, as roommates watched in the living room. I heard the dialogs from the kitchen, in several occasions I was paying more attention to it than PK who presumably WAS watching it because there would be a repeat in dialog and I'd shout at him asking what happened and he'd say he got distracted and rewinded a couple of minutes.

Anyway. Let's get to it.

It was a pretty good episode. Roommates said it was not as impactful and mindblowing as it was when they originally watched it. But our mouths were agape and shocked at the final scene. And at least two out of the three of us were standing for the last fifteen minutes because we couldn't take the drama and the tension. Serious stuff.

Was it the best ending of modern tv series, drama section? Possibly. Was it the best tv series episode ever? I'm no expert, and experts generally give that award to an episode that aired three parts before the finale. Was it still still amazing and mindblowing even though I had very little context of what was happening but still knew everything plot-wise? Totally! Knowing the story and plot didn't limit my enjoyment by one bit. As good as ever.

If you've never watched the series, and never intend to, that's great you're a person much after my own heart. Just watch this episode, the series finale, you'll be good for it, won't get harangued by friends and family to watch it all, and could even sneak through by observing how amazing the finale was, without revealing it was the only episode you watched.
