I'm not lying, you're lying, everybody else is lying

Which is how we learned of your presence, Mr. Singh, you were opening the fridge at quite a predictable interval. We checked all the other inhabitants of the house and their grid usage patterns, there was nothing that would cause the load to spike at 5.20 in the morning, then at 1 in the afternoon, and then at 11.30 to the dot at night. By isolating away all the variables, we were able to identify that there was something or somebody who was causing the usage spikes at these precise times. Our analysts first suggested it was possible there was an automated or timed plug, but the jitters didn't seem to align with that. And the load was quite high as well, certainly more than allowed by a regular consumer-grade outlet. It had to be a microwave and or a fridge being opened.

Thank you so much sir, this is great to be released from that prison, what will you be doing with the family under whose...confinement, I was for such a long time. I'm guessing I'm free to go, now that things have been sorted out? If you could call my family, I would be able to allow you to get back into your job and not be a nuisance here.

Not...yet, sir, there's still some interesting unanswered questions you might be able to help us with. We've taken the family living in the house in control and questioned them, but they seemed to be as confused and befuddled as we are. Normally we would use our advanced interrogation tactics to deal with the matter, but this really does look like an average middle class family with young children, and all the reconnaissance work we've done over the last several week suggests that they may have truly not been aware of your presence. Accordingly, we've let them go in the presence of their lawyer as well as a representative provided for them by the court. What is of interest to us is...the mechanism by which you found yourself in your predicament. You've previously suggested that the family may have played a part in your...imprisonment, shall we say for the moment...but that doesn't seem to make much sense in light of every other piece of evidence. Can you explain to us how you ended up there, what your plan of action was, and what it was exactly that was not allowing you to leave the place?

A...young....family? I don't understand, maybe there was an error in the analysis, I was captured by a group of five burly men who locked me into a room and threatened me, that if escaped they'd find me and the consequences would only get worse, so I found a secret basement room underneath the house, it was actually quite large and comfortable, and used it. It is possible, most certainly that the basement's power supply was connected to several different houses, and in this particular occasion, the house that you looked at was providing me the electricity? I'm telling you, there is really a vast underground network of rooms and tunnels, well supplied, it looks like people are preparing for something big to happen, and finding ways to stay safe from the outside world!

That could certainly be the case sir, we are not denying that. However, as you will remember, we retrieved you from a relatively small room that in no way could be described as a cavern, as you previously alluded to. In response to your claims, we've used various ground radar equipment around the neighborhood, and indeed underneath the house as well, to see if there's any unexpected spaces in there. Apart from septic tanks and slightly illegal water collection tanks under the houses, we were not able to find anything matching your description, which is interesting because you have been quite insistent about such a feature.

The days...they've...just...blurred together, now that I think, maybe I escaped from the cavern and somehow arrived underneath the small house trying to make an escape, and got stuck together maybe, because you know I was afraid of getting recaptured and them doing awful things with me. The memory is a very fallible thing, my body must have suppressed all the traumatic events to save me from great mental anguish because those were some quite dark days indeed that nobody should ever have to relive, even in an official statement.

Well memory's fallibility we certainly can agree with you on that sir, because we've checked with your family and others who've known you, and it seems there's a lot of mismatch in what you've reported as the order of events, and what everybody else claims. There are some quite respectable individuals, who have been corroborated by others who we have put great trust in the past, who have claimed that in the days you have claimed you were captured and being prepared for torture, you were actually renting nice comfortable hotel rooms, avoiding being seen by anybody and getting room service in your room. Could you speak to that please?
