A successful day of all-day drawing from observation

Quick one. Yesterday I went to Seaward park with PS and R and we chilled by the lake and viewed Mercer island and Bellevue. I happened to have my kindle scribe on my person, and as we were talking I started casually doodling. Ended up drawing three illustrations by the end of the evening, one of the scenery in front of us, with the lake, the trees, grasses and everything, one of the bag containing bottles of beer, and one of the Nike shoe R had taken off. Showed it to my art instructor the next day and got really useful feedback from her on how to draw trees and faraway landscapes.

Drawing in the background is such a useful activity to be doing, specially if I want to be paying attention to something important, and am unable to maintain the entirety of my attention on the person's words. It's a great way to distract myself without actually properly overwhelming with more information than I can handle. The idea from here is to start doodling during team meetings, and any opportunity I get, including picnic and outdoor hangs. Summer is coming soon, so that should be happening lots more often!
