This is a quick summary for all the things that happened during the dinner party on Saturday. It's Monday evening as I write this (and not Tuesday as I suggested in a previous post)
I got up at 7.15 and started cooking for several hours. Went to the yoga class in the morning, then several hours of grocery, then cooked for many more hours. And kept cooking and cooking. If I plan it better I might be able to take serious cooking for 15 people down to 3 hours, which is acceptable by me. The thing is I need to be doing this a lot more often.
People were full quite early on, I believe because there was just so much goddamn food. That's the problem, what an unexpected issue, there was too much food and everybody lost track of what was where and kept eating and eating and it all turned into a mush after a while. So yeah I have basically half of everything I cooked remaining, which means there's enough food for at least a week, possibly too. So. Much. Food. And it's all my fault.
The only good outcome of this, for me personally, is that I learned to use paper utensils, and got to use most of the grains I had at home. Ohhh and also got rice soaking, though haven't cooked yet even though it's been two days by now. Should look at it tomorrow, most definitely!
