FAQ about what happened to our website

Why did the website go down for like, couple of days?
Did the website go down for days? We say no, it was only parts of the site, which you regularly visited. So yes, some parts of the site did go down and they impacted you greatly. The reason is that some of our volunteer force is unhappy with some of the changes we've made.

How will it affect me in the future?
It likely won't! As we mentioned earlier, the volunteer force is is not satisfied with some of the changes we've made. Or rather, some volunteers are not, the majority are with us. So in the future we will assure that you won't be affected by de-volunteering the individuals who are unhappy with our policies, and encouraging them to find arrangements that are more suitable for them!

Is it going to cause a big issues for the website?
Listen. We don't pay those people. They offer to work for us. For free. And many, many people want their positions. We can't give those unpaid positions to all those people because these particular people are currently occupying such positions. Once they have identified what it is they want, it will open up the way for us to provide opportunities to other individuals.

They are saying your forum is going to become a corporate sellout?
It depends on what they're claiming exactly. It is community-run currently and will always so. Meaning we literally cannot afford to run the website by hiring people and giving them money because that's not how this model works. So in the future there will be more unpaid volunteers. We see no reason why the future volunteers are more likely to be corporate than current ones. Alternately, maybe it'll be less corporate, now that the entrenched forces seem so keep to depart this wonderful website of ours!
