Here's the problem, and I hope somebody's come up with a solution which I can easily find and use because I did some research the other day and wasn't particularly successful in finding any easy-to-understand financial services.
I always keep some buffer of cash in my checkings account. That means that cash is not being invested, either on stocks, or on government bonds. I'd rather that cash be invested somewhere and give me returns, and would happily pay some percentage of the earnings, plus some costs (with the guarantee that I come ahead eventually) if some service would create an investment savings account where I could store all my 'liquid' cash, where they would make some profit for themselves, a lot for me, while making me still highly liquid.
Bank of America is not doing it for me, the savings account offers no interest rate, and the checkings account bears absolutely no profit.
What a pity, this is a clear lack of fulfillment of a highly desirable product.
